What is Metal Injection Molding?

At Sintex, we believe that small components can make a big impact. Metal Injection Molding (MIM) is one of our core technologies - enabling the production of high-performance parts with complex geometries, tight tolerances, and excellent surface quality. By combining the design freedom of plastic injection molding with the strength and durability of metal, MIM offers a unique manufacturing approach.

 

How the MIM Process Works.

The process begins by mixing fine metal powders with a polymer binder to create a moldable feedstock. This feedstock is injected into a mold to form a “green part,” here after we are debinding, where we fully remove the polymer, and sintering at high temperatures to produce a fully dense, precision metal component with optimal material usage.
